What's In This Bath Bomb?
Sodium Bicarbonate (Baking Soda) is used in combination with citric acid to make bath bombs fizz (effervesce). When mixed with acid the baking soda emits carbon dioxide. This bath bomb will create beautiful fizzy bubbles in your bath tub as soon as it hits the water. Sodium Bicarbonate is known as Baking Soda because this ‘fizz’ is the same reaction that causes bread dough to rise.
Citric acid occurs naturally in citrus fruit and is found in many different types of food and drink. As mentioned previously, the citric acid combines with the sodium bicarbonate (Baking Soda) to create the fizz.
Parfum is a fragrant mixture of essential oils/aroma compounds and other additives. As ‘Tutti-Frutti’ is not a naturally found scent it must be synthesised using a mixture of ingredients in various small quantities. The result is this bath bomb’s rich, fruity ‘Tutti-Frutti’ scent.
